Diplo, whose real name is Thomas Wesley Pentz, is a well-known DJ and music producer from the United States who has a wide range of creative endeavors under his belt. Being a key member of Major Lazer and co-creator, he has been instrumental in influencing the direction of electronic dancehall music. In addition, Diplo is one half of the electronic duo Jack Ü with Skrillex and a member of the supergroup LSD with Sia and Labrinth. He works with Mark Ronson and is a part of Silk City.

By establishing the record label Mad Decent in 2006, Diplo demonstrated his dedication to assisting up-and-coming musicians. He further proved his commitment to encouraging artistic efforts by founding the non-profit organization Heaps Decent the following year.
