Wiz Khalifa

American musician Cameron Jibril Thomaz, better known by his stage as Wiz Khalifa, is a multi-talented native of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. After joining the local indie label Rostrum Records, he started his musical career and released his first studio album, Show and Prove, in 2006. After a brief partnership with Warner Bros. Records, Wiz Khalifa made his chart debut in 2008 with the Eurodance-inspired hit “Say Yeah”.

Wiz Khalifa forged his own route, self-releasing his second album, Deal or No Deal, in 2009 before joining Atlantic Records in 2010. “Black and Yellow,” his debut track for the label, honored his birthplace of Pittsburgh while showcasing his urban hip hop-influenced style. Wiz Khalifa received two Grammy Award nominations for the song, which catapulted to the top of the Billboard Hot 100 and cemented his reputation in the music business.

With hits like “Work Hard, Play Hard,” “We Dem Boyz,” and the number-one song “See You Again” featuring Charlie Puth, Wiz Khalifa’s commercial prowess was further demonstrated by his subsequent albums Rolling Papers (2011), O.N.I.F.C. (2012), and Blacc Hollywood (2014). These albums received both critical and commercial acclaim.

In addition to his musical pursuits, Wiz Khalifa has dabbled in acting, appearing with Snoop Dogg in movies and television series include Dickinson, The Eric Andre Show, and Mac & Devin Go to High School. To further demonstrate his business spirit and wide range of skills, he also started his own cannabis brand, Khalifa Kush, and formed the musical company Taylor Gang Entertainment.
