Beginning on Friday night June 21st, 2013 EDC kicks off. Read on to find out what to expect upon arrival.
300,000 PEOPLE?
EDC features over 100 of today’s top Electronic Dance Music performers (see the full list here: https://www.lasvegasweekly.com/news/2013/may/01/edc-2013-reveals-its-lineup/) and is fueled by a crowd of over 100,000 people per night. Each night when the sun goes down, the lights go up and the party starts.
Beginning on Friday at sunset the 3 day party extravaganza begins. Take the trek out to the Las Vegas Motor Speedway to get into the action. Each night the crowd’s senses are bludgeoned by a plethora of hallucinogenic inspired audio and visual stimuli: A huge multi-color Ferris wheel, Gravitron, and Octopus are sprinkled throughout the infield of the Speedway, skydivers fly in with flames shooting off of them, 30 minute long fireworks displays explode over top of you, an amazing LED light show sears your psyche, all the while the best DJ’s in the business drop their best sets. This is sensory overload. This is Electric Daisy Carnival.
I have partied more than just about any other human on the planet. I work in what are arguably the best clubs in the world. I have seen all of the big name performers at the best venues, sitting at the best tables therein. With all that being said, EDC is a party unequaled anywhere in the world. NEVER have I gotten to the point where I just wanted to close my eyes, curl up in the fetal position, and scream, “I GIVE! I GIVE!” That is, until I went to EDC.
To get into the fun of the night all the girls dress up in bright neon-colored tutus, put on the neon pink wigs, squeeze into the extra cute leggings, paint on a cute top, and a pair of neon shades, and VOILA! Ready to party! Guys get off easy by throwing on some shorts and a dorky t-shirt of some sort. LOL
The party goes on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from sun down to sun up!
HOW DO I GET IN?
The only tough part of this whole thing is getting tickets and transportation. EDC has been sold out for some time now so if you don’t have tickets you’ll have to scalp some upon arrival.
Be sure to arrange round trip transportation and plan PLENTY of time to get out there. Last year it took our limo over an hour to make the 15 mile trip from the strip and about the same time to get back. Be sure to plan this part of your adventure! You don’t want to get stuck out in the middle of the desert at 5AM with the beginning of a monstrous hang over and no idea how you’re getting back into town!
SHOULD I GO?
Yes. Yes you should. If you don’t have tickets- get them. If you don’t have vacation- quit! Get out here and check it out for the time of your lives!
