Great Santa Run
10,000 Santas running through the desert might sound like the final scene for some crazy Hollywood blockbuster but it is actually a well-respected Las Vegas tradition. The Las Vegas Great Santa run is a staple in Las Vegas holiday customs. This awesome spectacle consists of a 5k walk and 1 mile run and also plenty of people simply hanging out dressed as Santa.
Stiletto Dash
If running Santas doesn’t hit your funny-bone, then maybe 500 ladies running in high heels is more your speed. The Stiletto Dash is a 50 yard run through the Palazzo casino hosted by reality star Brooke Burke. The lucky lady who crosses the finish line first will receive $5,000 in prize money. That amount of money will buy a lot of retail therapy this holiday season. Besides the pure hilarity of bearded Santas and running stilettos and this event benefits the Las Vegas charity Opportunity Village.
Andrea Bocelli Christmas Concert
For the 3rd year in a row, Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli shares his yuletide musical styling with Las Vegas at the MGM Grand. Andrea Bocelli’s music is synonymous with the Las Vegas strip because the Bellagio used his song “Con Te Partiro” in their TV advertising campaign. Andrea Bocelli is also celebrating showing his holidays by working closely with Andre Agassi and the city of Los Angeles to launch his new Andrea Bocelli Foundation to help those in need.
Scuba Santa
Santa gets his sea legs. The Silverton Casino Hotel is bringing back Underwater Santa. Santa will be swimming with the fishes (alive, that is) in the resort’s 117,000 gallon aquarium. This will definitely put a new spin on the kids holiday photos.
